Welcome to Chiltern Way Academy Austen.  We are a unique all through school, located in Basingstoke, providing education and care for 128 young people between the ages of 5 and 16, with a primary diagnosis of ASD.

We have a purpose built, two-storey site, completed in April 2021, and boast specialist classrooms and extensive external grounds.  Our aim is to provide opportunities for all children to thrive, reach their potential and have the skills necessary to overcome barriers.  We believe that building confidence, self-esteem and resilience plays a significant role in our students’ ability to learn and achieve.

Our dedicated, professional and well qualified team support the students to be the best versions of themselves and will go above and beyond to meet their individual needs.  Our curriculum has been designed to support our students to achieve their best possible outcomes by combining academic studies with key life skills.  We do this by offering a range of qualifications and activities that are suitable for our learners.  We aim to ensure that all our students leave our school with the skills needed to successfully transition to further education, employment or training.

We work hard to make sure our students feel safe, secure, valued and that they have regular opportunities to experience learning outside of the classroom environment.  We are extremely proud of our friendly and welcoming environment and are happy to invite visitors to come and find out more about our school.
