We want to hear from you if you are an inspiring, committed, highly motivated Teacher or are an ECT aspiring to be a Special Needs Teacher. You will join and be supported by a successful team who seek the best outcomes for our students. The appointed candidate will teach to a curriculum based on a primary school model. The most important aspect of the successful candidate is enthusiasm for teaching and a desire to improve your own continuing professional development. With a majority of our students with an ASC or LD diagnosis and/or Speech, Language and Communication difficulty, the school supports an extensive CPD program to allow staff to continue to develop specialisms. Garston Manor is a specialist school for Autism, Learning Difficulties and Speech, Language and Communication Needs for students aged 11-16 who have a very wide range of difficulties and needs, from mild or moderate through to complex, with an increasing co-morbidity of needs, especially related to complex medical needs. Our vision is to become the Number 1 LD Secondary School in all of Hertfordshire. The school recognises the individuality of each student and using the slogan ‘different for different’, together with good to outstanding staff and practices, through constant evaluation of our work and in collaboration with parents, carers and other professionals, strives and endeavours to help each student achieve their maximum potential. Garston Manor School is a Specialist School for Autism, Learning Difficulties and Speech and Language. It serves students aged 11 - 16 with Learning Difficulties, Autism and Speech Language and Communication Needs. All subjects are taught in mixed groups across the curriculum. The school is situated on a very large and pleasant site, having recently been completely rebuilt, now offers outstanding facilities and provisions for our school community. Pupils attend from a wide area which extends from Watford to Borehamwood and covers parts of Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City.
