Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a person to oversee pupil study when a teacher is unavailable due to courses, trips, sickness or other absence. The successful candidate should have a good sense of discipline and a non-confrontational manner. This is an ideal role for someone looking to gain experience before pursuing teaching as a career. Cover supervisors work with pupils but will not be required to do preparation, planning or marking.
Previous cover supervisors have gone on to train as teachers through our teaching school and are now full time teachers within the Coombe Federation.
Coombe Boys’ is a popular and highly successful non-selective 11 – 18 school that is federated with its partner girls’ school, a national Teaching School, to comprise the Coombe Secondary Schools Academies Trust, based in New Malden, Surrey. Coombe Boys’ has approximately 800 students on roll, including a mixed sixth form.
Results at GCSE and in the Sixth Form are significantly above national averages and the School was graded Good with Outstanding Leadership & Management in its most recent Ofsted inspection (December 2013).

About Coombe Boys' School
Coombe Boys’ School is a comprehensive secondary school offering a broad and balanced curriculum to local boys aged 11-16. We also have a mixed sixth form run in close collaboration with Coombe Girls’ School. There are approximately 1100 students on roll including the sixth form. The school has held academy status since 2012, as part of the Coombe Academy Trust (CAT) which also incorporates Coombe Girls’ School, Knollmead Primary School, Green Lane Primary & Nursery School, and Robin Hood Primary & Nursery School. The school is based in New Malden close to the A3 and with Motspur Park station within 8 minutes walking distance.
