Job overview

Purpose

Under direction of senior staff to provide technical support in specific areas of the school which may include visual art and design technology, media, food technology, drama and school displays.  The post holder will undertake the design, fitting and maintenance of engaging school displays, supporting the wider marketing strategies of the school

The role of the Creative Arts/Display Technician

·        To design, install and maintain displays that celebrate students’ work to best effect and reflecting the values and ethos of the school, including display for external exhibition.

·        Taking photographs for use in the creation of displays and marketing, including photography and videos of school events and activities, for use on the school website, social media and other marketing media including the school prospectus.

·        Design of posters and other marketing or information provision for various campaigns.

·        Provision of support services to Art teaching staff in organising the requirements of their work.

·        Preparation and provision of equipment and materials to support practical teaching and remove them safely afterwards making it ready for use next time it is required.  Clean and sterilise apparatus and equipment as necessary.

·        Establish productive working relationships with students acting as a role model and setting high expectations, promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom. 

Cannock Chase High School is an 11–19 mixed comprehensive school with around 1100 students on roll. Students and staff are warm, open and supportive to one another and proud of their school. We were judged as 'Good' in our most recent Ofsted inspection and behaviour was described as 'exemplary'. Mutual respect is a key feature of our relationships here.
