An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our vibrant school community. We seek to appoint a skilful classroom practitioner who consistently demonstrates the highest standards of delivery, is fully committed to raising attainment across all key stages and always achieve the highest standards within the department. The successful candidate will play a key role within the school in the continuing development of Food Preparation and Nutrition across all key stages. They will also work closely with our catering manager to support and promote a positive environment for eating, enjoying food and promoting healthy lifestyles.

We are looking for a positive and proactive teacher who is happy to be hands on and immerse themselves within the school community. Loreto is looking for a teacher that is passionate about teaching Food and Nutrition and looking for the opportunity to join a committed and supportive school.

The successful candidate will be an experienced or outstanding recently qualified teacher with:

  • the ability to engage students and transmit an enthusiasm for Food & Nutrition
  • knowledge and understanding of current teaching and learning strategies in Food & Nutrition
  • the ability or potential to teach inspirational lessons to a range of abilities across both key stages;
  • an enthusiastic commitment to developing the school’s extra-curricular offering;
  • the ability to lead on curriculum and developing resources from KS3 to KS4
  • Monitoring students progress and knowledge development in Food & Nutrition intervening where necessary
  • a commitment to Loreto High School’s high expectations and powerful ethos;
  • the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of our students;
  • excellent subject knowledge;
  • a desire to work collaboratively and to make a real contribution to the development of our department and the progress of our students;
  • Understanding and experience of implementing successful intervention programmes.
