Job description

City and Islington College Sixth Form are recruiting for a Deputy Director to take on an exciting role within their Sixth Form at Angel Campus.

About the role:

This is a Senior Management role within the Centre Leadership Team contributing to the strategic, operational management, development, and performance of all aspects of 6th Form operations. We are looking for an A Level experienced senior leader and manager with high expectations of staff and students to lead the 6th Form and its broad A Level provision at City and Islington College. You (alongside another Deputy Director) will lead a team of Curriculum Managers and Subject Leads that are responsible for half of the 6th Forms provision and act as a designated Deputy for the Assistant Principal.

We are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, innovative, care about students and want to work in a supportive and friendly environment. Making positive impact on teaching and learning strategies and achieving consistently high outcomes for A Level students should be your prime drivers.

City and Islington Sixth Form College is a well-established specialist A-level centre, with 1600 on roll. We are situated on one site at the Angel in the heart of London and our wonderful students travel from across the capital to learn with us. All teachers are expected to be pastoral tutors to a group of up to 22 A level students and we have a wide range of enrichment and extension activities to develop our students’ confidence and skills.

About you:

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of successful A Level curriculum delivery and a strong track record of curriculum and people management.

Located in the London Borough of Islington, City and Islington College (otherwise known as Candi) is a further education college with students aged 14 and over.
