Job overview

Westonbirt is a co-educational independent boarding and day school for some 760 pupils aged 2 to 18 years, set in 210 acres of beautiful grounds in the heart of the Cotswolds, yet only 90 minutes from London. The School was voted ‘Co-educational Independent School of the Year’ at the 2023 Independent School of the Year awards and has been through an extraordinary period of growth and development over the past five years, more than doubling in size and completing a hugely successful transition to co-education.

Since 2018 Westonbirt has been a member of Wishford Schools, a group of nine high-achieving independent schools across the south of England. Wishford’s support enables the School to make bold decisions and invest in facilities such as their impressive new boarding houses and sports campus.

Reporting directly to the Headmistress, this is a newly created role, and the postholder will provide inspirational leadership of the School’s pupil recruitment, marketing and communications activities, developing and implementing strategies to further raise Westonbirt’s profile locally, nationally and internationally.

The successful candidate will be an exceptional strategic thinker who will champion the Westonbirt brand and create a world-class approach to admissions and marketing that reflects the scale and scope of the School’s ambition. As a key member of the Executive Team, the postholder will be encouraged to think outside of the box and implement new initiatives.

This is a varied and exciting leadership position suited to a high calibre professional who can demonstrate established and effective leadership skills, combined with extensive admissions and/or marketing experience, commercial acumen, stakeholder management and influencing skills gained from within or outside the sector.
