Job overview

St John Chrysostom Federation are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and child-centred early reading leader who will work across the Federation. The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Executive Headteacher, Heads of School and senior leadership team to develop our schools.

In September, our schools will have full time nurseries and will have approximately 1,000 children on roll who come from inner-city Manchester.

If you have a passion for Early Reading and an excellent awareness of phonics interventions, have been an Early Reading subject leader (model practitioner) and are actively looking to enjoy a non-class-based leadership role to develop early reading across the Federation please apply.

We would like to appoint someone with Early Reading leadership experience to join our Federation, someone who:

·        Wants the challenge and excitement of teaching and leading in a vibrant, urban setting

·        Will be an inspirational leader and early reading coach of a team of enthusiastic and dedicated staff

·        Is committed to securing outstanding outcomes for our pupils

·        Is willing to embrace the potential leadership opportunities which may arise in our expanding schools

·        Is an excellent communicator who has the ability to empathise with and relate to children and adults alike

·        Is sensitive to the ethos and values of our Church of England school in our multi-faith community

Visits to the schools are strongly encouraged on Tuesday at 4.00pm at St Chrysostom’s. Please contact Idris Busari on i.busari@sjcfederation.co.uk or 0161 273 3621 to arrange a visit.

Interviews will take place in the afternoon of the 23rd May 2024, a phonic lesson followed by a formal interview.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
