About the role

The David Ross Education Trust is now recruiting for an Exams Officer who will join our wonderful team based at Humberston Academy in North East Lincolnshire. Becoming part of the Humberston family while also having the wealth of support from the central IT & Data Team, we want someone to join us who will be vocal, challenge our thinking and ensure the exams processes and procedures are well run and managed.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated, customer focused and can work to a high level of accuracy to contribute to further enhancing the values and culture at our academies. We need someone who will rigorously follow all JCQ procedures and has a clear balance between organisation and creativity in our Exams processes.

You will oversee the management of the school external and internal examination system. You will recruit, manage and lead on training examination invigilators as well as manage an Exams Assistant. Key tasks will be ensuring safe storage and confidentiality of examination materials, ensuring safe and secure distribution of examination scripts and coursework to relevant bodies.

This position is full-time and open-ended (37 hours per week, working days Monday – Friday).

However, alternate working patterns such as term-time only working may be considered for the right candidate.

As well as being an Ofsted graded outstanding academy, Humberston Academy achieved ‘World Class Schools’ status in December 2019 and re-accredited in 2022. Humberston Academy continues to deliver incredible opportunities to young people with a specific focus on STEM enrichment and favourable links to the apprenticeships industry as well as traditional route towards higher education.

Humberston Academy has also been appointed as the Teaching School Hub for the local region which will allow all colleagues to access leading edge career professional development in order to enhance the standard of teaching as well as the opportunity to deliver CPD to colleagues locally in our profession.

A total of 84% of students at Humberston Academy achieved 4 to 9 in GCSE Maths this summer. In English, the figure was 88%. 82% of students achieved above grade 4 in the combine Maths and English measure. These results once again confirms our place among the top-performing schools in the area.
