This is an incredibly rare and fantastic career development opportunity for an already experienced Headteacher/ Principal to join and make a significant contribution to the Oasis Community Learning family. All our academies are passionately committed to providing a rich educational experience and ensuring that every child and young person has the chance to achieve at the highest level. As the new Executive Principal, you will lead Lord’s Hill School in its journey to good and enjoy having oversight of the Lord’s Hill Pre-School, currently graded as good by Ofsted. You will also drive the implementation of Oasis’s developing Wave 3 strategy in Southampton, representing all three of our existing academies and our pre-school. This will involve working in partnership with Southampton City Council.

We are seeking a dynamic Executive Principal who:

  • is highly ambitious for students and staff and has proven expertise in leading significant school improvement to raise standards for students
  • strives tirelessly to establish and sustain the expectations of the highest educational standards and behaviour with a determination to develop high quality learning for students both in the classroom and beyond
  • is able to develop a supportive and positive culture for staff and students that also welcomes and enriches our work with our local community of parents, carers and other local stakeholders embodies and models the Oasis 9 Habits, which are an invitation to a way of life characterised by being compassionate; patient; humble; joyful; honest; hopeful; considerate; forgiving and self-controlled
  • champions a respectful, fair, honest and hard-working ethos where all members of the community are supported to enable them to play an active role in a caring, diverse, healthy, inclusive, safe and thriving community
  • has a proven record as a resilient, creative and successful strategic leader of change with excellent interpersonal skills
  • is able to motivate and empower colleagues to develop high performing teams and individuals, supporting good professional development of all staff

Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill opened in 2008 as part of the initial Academy programme. Since we have been open we have seen significant improvements in achievement, progress and attendance. Academic achievement has markedly improved for all students regardless of their needs or starting positions. In fact analysis of our data by prior attainment (low, middle and high) shows that we outperform most schools nationally. We have also seen a huge improvement in student attendance. This is a good indicator, because if students want to be at school they attend regularly.

We have a brand new building which offers our students outstanding learning opportunities. We are very fortunate to have these facilities and we are committed to making the most of them both for our students and the wider community.

The ethos of the Academy cannot simply be summed up by our new building, our improved results and better attendance. The heart and soul of Lord’s Hill can be summed up in our core values which are essential to every member of staff and are the essence of who we are.
