Working hours: 12noon to 1:00pm Mon-Fri
We are seeking a skilled Teaching Assistant to support our teaching and other school staff in assisting the delivery of the national curriculum and other learning processes. You will ideally be experienced in supporting both individual and groups of pupils in their learning, and be able to support all aspects of the evaluation and learning processes. Your role will include the supervision and delivery of appropriate learning activities, to assist the monitoring, recording and reporting of pupil progress. You would work as part of a committed team – providing GTA support and supervising lunch and organised activities, including monitoring pupil behaviour throughout the midday break.

Values and vision
Oatlands Junior School aims to teach children how to be tolerant of others and gain independence. Staff also encourage children to face fresh challenges in order to learn new skills. The school follows a creative curriculum that allows children to learn through extra-curricular activities, including art, design and technology, music and French.
English lessons focus on phonics sessions, to improve reading and writing activities and ensure spelling, grammar and punctuation are accurate. The teachers allow students to work as a group for certain class tasks. Each child also has their own portfolio to demonstrate their capability in each key stage.
Oatlands Junior School also recognises the importance of mathematics, so pupils are taught mental calculations from a young age. Each child has a maths passport, which they take to each class to show their development over the years. Teachers encourage the children to want to learn more and take part in lessons.
