At ISZN, our mission is to develop students who are academically curious, globally minded, passionate about discovery, and who continually seek to challenge themselves. We are currently seeking a passionate and dynamic Head of Art to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to inspire and empower students through innovative teaching methods and an engaging curriculum. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility and strategic oversight of the Art program at the International School of Zurich North.


Key Accountabilities

· To develop an Art programme with the aim of delivering excellence across both the primary and secondary school

· Be responsible for the day-to-day management and development of the department by: Modelling outstanding teaching and leading collaborative planning and development.

· Ensure that curriculum plans for the Middle years, IGCSE and IAL are in place (secondary)

· Work with the PYP coordinator to ensure that the Unit Planners for the IB PYP programme (primary) are current and regularly reviewed.

· Take on the role of a Form Tutor in the secondary school.

· Take an active role in the co-curricular life of the school.


Safeguarding Responsibilities

· To comply with safeguarding policies, procedures and code of conduct

· To demonstrate a personal commitment to safeguarding and student/colleague wellbeing

· To ensure that any safeguarding concerns or incidents are reported appropriately in line with policy.

· To engage in safeguarding training when required


Qualifications & Experience

· Undergraduate degree

· Strong organisational skills

· Proven track record of high standards and expectations.

· Experience of strategic planning.

· Competence and confidence in the use of IT.

ISZN International School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational independent all-through school with sixth form in Switzerland, serving students from the age of 3-18. The all-through school is situated in Wallisellen, nearby to the city of Zurich.  It is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School.

ISZN International School was established in 1999. The school offers an international curriculum taught in English, with pupils going on to sit IGCSE exams and A levels. Small class sizes are offered with a 1:8 teacher, student ratio. There are over 40 nationalities represented at the school. Facilities include a library, art room, science labs and access to a swimming pool at local sports centre.
