South Craven School, supported by South Craven Academy Trust since May 2011, is an 11-18 mixed comprehensive school situated in a semi-rural location on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales with easy access to Leeds, Bradford and Greater Manchester. South Craven achieves strong results at both GCSE and A level and has an excellent vocational programme.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Faculty of Geography for an inspiring, enthusiastic and talented teacher to lead Geography. The faculty is vibrant and forward thinking in its approach.
The successful candidate will join the team in September 2024.
The main duties and responsibilities of this post include:
• Teaching of Geography to all key stages.
• Developing and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the Geography curriculum.
• Ensuring high quality teaching and learning across the department.
• Commitment to raising the achievement of every student.
• Working closely with the SLT link and Quality of Education Team to develop the Geography department.
• Strategic development planning and the monitoring and evaluation of impact.
• Contributing actively to the policies and aspirations of the school.
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:
• The ability to lead the Geography team.
• An ability to teach Geography to A level.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Geography curriculum and pedagogy.
• A track record of positive student outcomes.
• A proven record of success leading a team.
• Personal ambition and the capacity for hard work.
