The Science department is one of the most successful within the school, providing the ideal platform for the right leader to shine. Considerable investment has ensured that the department is innovative in its approaches to Teaching and Learning. There is a strong focus upon mastery in Year 7 and Teachers are supported to plan collectively to ensure the highest of standards. Results over the last three years show considerable progress and we are looking for someone who can take our Science department to the next level.
Heartlands High School is a great place to work. We aim to cultivate Teachers that are passionate about their subjects and seek to teach exciting lessons which engage learners. We encourage teaching that is innovative. We support our staff with an appraisal model that encourages development rather than a rigid approach to graded lessons. Support and development:
At Heartlands, we use School IP to track and support training and ongoing CPD. Depending on your need and level of experience, you will be placed on a training pathway.
The CPD plan is released in September each year and includes a range of internal training sessions before and after school as well as on inset days.
