This role has arisen due to the expansion of our on-site team and the development of an IT support provision being provided to our local community schools. We are looking to appoint a dynamic and forward thinking IT technician to work as part of the IT Services Team. We required someone who is a motivated and independent person, committed to providing IT support to students, staff and all users within the Academy. The successful person will work under the instruction and guidance of the IT Services Manager, Academy Business Manager/CFO and other key staff to provide support for our students, staff and their families. The main aim of this job is to work with the rest of the IT Services department to provide friendly and efficient technical support and assist with the delivery and maintenance of the Academy’s IT Services. In this role, you will help to ensure that our IT facilities and infrastructure are effective in supporting both the teaching and learning requirements as well as the business functions within the academy. The person appointed will work in collaboration within the IT Support team, to support the development and implementation of our IT strategy and IT services provision, including all aspects of IT technical support, guidance, maintenance, updates and system security.

The successful candidate should:

  • have at least 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at Level 4 (Grade C) or above
  • have a high level of IT skills, knowledge and abilities

  • be able to work independently and manage own time as needed within the demands of the role
  • have the ability to motivate, inspire and go the extra mile for our students, families and staff
  • be able to inspire students and support them with technology services to facilitate their learning

  • have highly developed inter – personal skills, communication and excellent ICT skills
  • have a clear understanding of how IT supports teaching and learning

  • be able to work effectively with students, staff and parents
  • be willing to travel to the schools supported by Joseph Leckie Academy
  • have a clear understanding of the importance of Safeguarding and equal opportunities
