A leading HMC, co-educational, independent junior school in the South West of England with 200 pupils from 7 to 11 years old and boasting a rich and stimulating curriculum where academic excellence is supported by excellent pastoral care and balanced with a wealth of exciting co-curricular opportunities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen, and we are looking to appoint a suitably qualified, dynamic and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Classroom Teacher to teach across the age range. We are seeking an exceptional teacher to join our successful and ambitious school. The appointed candidate will be a highly skilled practitioner with a desire to provide outstanding learning outcomes and pastoral care. Candidates will be expected to teach a range of subjects across Year 3 as a form teacher could specialise in other subjects and year groups if appropriate and practical.

This post is to cover a period of maternity leave that runs from September 2024 until August 2025.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a high level of pedagogical skill and knowledge as well as an understanding of the responsibilities of the role and the wider educational landscape. You will be professional and dedicated and will be able to work successfully both independently and as part of a team. We are looking for a teacher who is able to display organisational skills, composure under pressure and has a positive approach to the role.

The candidate will need to be an excellent classroom practitioner who will be expected to take a full and active part in the extra-curricular life of this busy junior school, including being a Form Teacher.

King Edward’s School operates its own salary scale, which is enhanced above the National State Qualified Teachers’ Scale and the salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The School is a member of Teachers’ Pension Scheme and also offers an alternative competitive defined contribution pension scheme.
