Due to our growing reputation, we are heavily over-subscribed once again for September 2018 and are seeking an inspirational Lead Practitioner to join our small but well-established and innovative Humanities department from Easter 2018.
You will be joining a well-resourced team with a relentless focus on raising attainment and recruiting Y11 students to KS5. This would be a really exciting opportunity for an outstanding, experienced teacher looking to develop their career in a forward-thinking school that really values the professional development and well-being of its staff.
You will;
- Action plan for the leadership and development of Teaching and Learning in History,
- Contribute to the coaching of colleagues, with a focus on teaching and learning in History and diminishing in-cohort differences,
- Develop teaching and learning in History at Post 16, expanding the recruitment/retention of students on A Level courses and
- Lead the delivery of the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) with a small group of Post 16 students, supporting those making Russell Group University Applications.
You will be an effective team member, whose input will contribute to the further development of the current supportive and enthusiastic teaching team.
The successful candidate must be; -
- Able to teach History to at least KS5,
- Committed to making a difference to the lives of pupils,
- Passionate about History and its impact on learning, with the ability to motivate pupils and achieve excellent results,
- Resilient with a strong personal drive and
- Someone who has high expectations of both students and their colleagues.
