Job overview
Major Responsibilities:
1. Provide direct instruction to qualifying students through both co-teaching and specialized pull-out programs focused on IEP goals.
2. Develop, implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs, setting appropriate goals and evaluating student progress.
3. Modify curricula, materials and assignments to accommodate student needs and learning styles.
4. Collaborate with teachers to deliver co-taught lessons that differentiate instruction through flexible grouping, adapted content and adjusted delivery.
5. Implement positive behavior supports and social skills training to help students self-regulate and thrive in inclusive settings.
6. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, updating IEPs and coordinating with external specialists and related service providers as needed.
7. Assist with assessments, evaluations and student records related to special education services.
Requirements and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology or related field required.
2. 3+ years of teaching experience with students with diverse learning needs in an international school setting.
3. Proficiency in Mandarin, the native language of most students, highly preferred.
4. Experience developing IEPs and 504 plans.
5. Strong background in differentiated instruction and research-based accommodations & modifications.
6. Ability to adapt instructional methods to accommodate students' unique learning styles and needs.

Yew Wah International Education School of Guangzhou is a mixed, all-through international school and sixth form form located in Huadong Town in the Huadu District of Guangzhou, China. It was established in 2014.
The school is part of the Yew Wah International Education Foundation. Its curriculum is based on the Chinese National Curriculum, enriched by elements of the international curriculum, and students study towards international qualifications including the Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A Level.The school will soon offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
