Permanent, Full time

Salary £26,421 (SSP12) to £31,364 (SSP22)

Birmingham Ormiston Academy is a 14 to 19 academy specialising in Creative, Digital and Performing Arts. The Academy opened in September 2011 and has over 1000 students. We form part of the BOA Group, which includes the Old Rep Theatre, BOA Stage & Screen in 2021 and BOA Digital Technologies in 2022.

We are now seeking to appoint a well organised, efficient and enthusiastic individual to liaise with the academy’s Senior Leadership Team to provide assistance and support in the strategic management of the MIS system, data, staff and student timetables and examinations.

The role will involve a range of tasks including:

-      Maintaining the use of Assessment Manager, Attendance, Profiles and Behaviour modules and support staff in their day to day use of the system including staff training.

-      Maintaining the assessment database and ensuring that assessment data held on students is accurate and complete.

-      Assisting with the analysis of academy data and producing reports on areas such as progress, attendance, effort and behaviour at times set out in the assessment calendar.

-      Working alongside the Vice Principal with responsibility for the monitoring, recording and reporting cycle at the Academy.

-      Liaising with students, staff and parents in relation to exams and taking responsibility for sending of reports and examination information.

We are keen to attract individuals with proven database experience including reporting, information management and the ability to analyse trends and present data. Prior experience working within a school or similar establishment and a good working knowledge of SIMS / BROMCOM would be ideal.

You will be a proactive individual with excellent IT skills who can meet deadlines and complete tasks to the highest standards. The successful candidate will have a good attention to detail, the ability to manipulate data and experience dealing with young people. Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise at all levels will be key.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference to the future of education within a world class academy. If you share the academy’s vision and ambitions, possess a strong desire to work within an ethos of creative collaboration and partnership and want to have a positive impact on young people, families and the community then we would be delighted to hear from you.

Closing date for applications is 10am on 22nd May 2024

We reserve the right to interview ahead of the closing date if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.

The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check.
