Salary is dependent on experience but expected to be in the range of £24,000-28,000 per annum

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 in painting and decorating.
  • Relevant knowledge and experience
  • Clean driving licence.
  • Own transport

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Planned refurbishment
  • Preventative and planned maintenance
  • Preparing, cleaning and filling surfaces using appropriate methods.
  • Apply paint, lining paper, wallpaper or other specified materials, using the most appropriate equipment.
  • To undertake minor plastering works as required.
  • To carry out glazing repairs when required and when appropriate.
  • To undertake general repairs or planned maintenance tasks.
  • To assist in planning the work, determining suitable materials and equipment according to priorities, the size and complexity of the job.
  • To communicate with suppliers on material choices and provide quotations to assist with budget management.
  • To keep the Group Head of Estates aware of progress and problems in a timely manner.
  • To ensure the area is left in a clean, tidy and safe state during and after completion of work.
  • To work with regard to Health and Safety at all times wearing correct PPE when appropriate.
  • To use power tools and machinery safely.
  • To comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act and all relevant group policies
