Maternity Cover, MPS/UPS
Part Time (0.8 FTE over 4 days)
Required for September 2024, a well-qualified, outstanding classroom teacher to join our highly successful 11-18 Science Department. Candidates should be imaginative and capable of introducing fresh ideas whilst maintaining a clear focus on successful examination outcomes. We offer opportunities to teach across the ability range in KS3 and KS4. Applications from candidates with a specialism in any of the Science subjects is welcome.
The Science Department at The Nelson Thomlinson School takes a traditional approach and believes that a knowledge and understanding of scientific principles is essential for all pupils. The school prides itself on the quality of education it provides for pupils of all ages and abilities, with the Sciences enjoying strong uptake at A level as a result of excellent outcomes at GCSE in both Triple and Combined Science.

About The Nelson Thomlinson School
The Nelson Thomlinson School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Wigton, Cumbria. There are approximately 1300 students at the school between the ages of 11-18.
The Nelson Thomlinson School was founded in 1714, with its present school forming in 1969 after joining together with Nelson Thomlinson Grammar School and the Wigton Secondary School. In 2012, a multi-purpose hall was opened by former headmaster, Mr Ireland, which was named The Peter Ireland Building.
