Principal of Secondary

Required for July 2023

We are looking to appoint a Principal of Secondary, who will provide effective, dynamic and inspirational leadership to the ICS Milan community. You will report to the Executive Principal and build on the success of the Secondary as we enter the next phase of the school’s growth and development.

You will lead, develop and continue to improve the school, in line with Globeducate’s mission, values and the Platinum Standard framework.

The Principal of Secondary will ensure the school's future success by:

- Upholding the school and group's mission and principles. 

- Maintaining and improving the quality of education that we offer. 

- Effectively leading the Secondary phase of the school in an organised and efficient way. 

- Ensuring that we involve our students, parents and the wider community in our education and the breadth of educational initiative we offer. 

ICS Milan is a highly successful international school in Milan for children from 2-18 (currently 2-15) and part of the Globeducate school group http://www.globeducate.com/ 

The school adopts a STEAM approach to learning, using Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics as access points for building student enquiry, critical thinking and exploring a child’s creative mind. It gives exposure to project-based learning, hand on experience to learn various fundamental motor skills and help children develop analytical skills required for problem solving.

We offer a stimulating learning journey which is defined by a rich and well-structured curriculum. In Early Years we follow The British Early Years Foundation Stage. In Primary, we follow The Primary School follows the Cambridge Primary Programme, covering English and Maths, and The IPC -International Primary Curriculum, covering the topic-based subjects (science, social studies, geography, history, art and international mindedness). We are currently exploring the PYP.

In the Secondary we offer the IB MYP in Years 7-11 and are a candidacy school for the IB Diploma for September 2023. We are also looking to introduce iGCSEs in Years 10 and 11.

As a Paritaria school (i.e. certified by the Italian School System) , we incorporate National recommendations for the curriculum as established by the Italian Ministry of Education for the Italian language and culture programme. All children in the Primary school learn Italian, either as a first or second language and integrating Italian education and culture is a key strength of the school.

The selection process is as follows: 

• Closing date for Applications: Friday 16th December

• Selected candidates will be invited to a long list interview via a Zoom call;

Final interviews will take place in person, in Milan in January 2023.

• The successful candidate will be required to provide original documents and certificates prior to appointment and/or go through immigration process, which includes providing Declaration of Value in Italy of earned diplomas and certificates.
