Job Outline:

As an esteemed international school, accredited by COBIS and BSO, BIST is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Secondary Vice Principal to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the quality of education provided to our pupils while ensuring the day-to-day running of the Secondary School.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and ensure the high-quality education provided at BIST, focusing on implementing innovative approaches informed by the latest educational research.
  2. Jointly manage the professional development of our teaching team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  3. Coordinate and maintain efficient timetabling and cover arrangements, ensuring a smooth learning experience for all pupils.
  4. Actively participate in the daily operations of the school, including decision-making, problem-solving, and communication with staff, pupils and parents.


Qualifications & Skills:

  1. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Master's degree or higher preferred.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  3. A strong background in innovative teaching methodologies and familiarity with the latest educational research.
  4. Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated experience in managing timetabling, cover, and daily school operations.

Established in 2012, The British International School of Tunis (BIST) provides an engaging, inspirational and caring education for young children, following the UK National Curriculum. BIST currently delivers Nursery through Year 13. Our population across the primary and secondary is approximately 200 pupils.

Our student body reflects the international nature of our community, with over 30 nationalities represented in our school. Our teachers are either British or have trained in the UK and have extensive experience teaching both in the UK and internationally. All class teachers are also supported by full-time trained teaching assistants.
