This post offers an excellent opportunity for a well-qualified and talented teacher, to join our highly successful department. Our students learn in a modern dedicated performance theatre with exceptional facilities and dedicated teaching space. We are seeking to appoint an inspirational professional who has a real love for their subject, and the drive to use creative approaches in their teaching. You will join our pioneering and highly successful faculty alongside English and Media, also working closely with Music, and the Practical Arts faculty to take an active role in the wider school community.

Our students are hardworking and have a positive attitude to learning; they thrive in a culture of achievement and success. Drama is a popular subject at Tolworth Girls’ School & Sixth Form, with many students opting to take it for GCSE and A level. The faculty is committed to ensuring that students are given opportunities to develop their learning with a wide range of extra-curricular experiences, trips and clubs. We frequently collaborate with schools in the local area. Our students from all year groups were fabulous in our latest joint venture with a local secondary boys’ school, 3 sold out performance of Bugsy Malone in the Spring term.

We have a conscientious, well-staffed department with a strong team ethos. Our ideal candidate will be a committed practitioner who shares our vision ‘Let your light so shine – Be the best you can be’. You will have the ability to teach up to A ‘Level/ Key Stage 5.

This post is suitable for a well-qualified candidate or an ECT looking for a supportive and well-structured ECT programme to start in September 2024.

There may also be the opportunity to apply for a pastoral TLR post with additional responsibility outside of the Drama department. Details can be obtained on request or discussed if shortlisted.
