We are looking to appoint an outstanding individual to join us at Cheadle Hulme School as a Teacher of English from September 2024.

The Role:  

Are you a passionate and experienced English teacher seeking a new and exciting opportunity?

In this role you will be responsible for the teaching of English throughout the Senior School. The Head of Department has twelve colleagues: eight full-time and four part-time.

The School's intake at 11+ is usually eight parallel forms of approximately 24 students each.

In the Lower Sixth (Year 12) we offer two choices for the 30+ students who opt for our subject: English Literature (Edexcel) and English Language (AQA). The most able Sixth Formers are also offered extra lessons in preparation for Oxbridge entry or Extension classes. 

Members of the Department also contribute to HPQ and EPQ, Wellbeing, the Waconian Programme, Pathways, CHScholars and Careers work, offering a variety of courses on aspects of literary, dramatic and communication studies and Critical Thinking. We are also proud contributors to the innovative Lit in Colour Pioneer Programme.
