The Teacher of Girls’ PE will join a vibrant department and work together to ensure that the Academy’s vision of excellence and success is achieved within this department.  Through having the highest expectations, you will be able to continue to drive up standards of achievement, attainment and enjoyment for the subject so that all pupils can make exceptional progress.

The successful applicant will be committed to leading learning which has high quality teaching and learning at its heart. You will be passionate about teaching PE, have a strong desire to develop, within pupils, a real interest in the subject, by offering them a range of high quality experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. You will also be committed to ensuring that all pupils are given the best opportunities to succeed and use strategies that will ignite within each learner a strong desire to achieve their very best.

The successful candidate will be able to enthuse, motivate and inspire children, generating within them a love for learning.  Good teamwork, high standards and a capacity for hard work will have been at the core of your success. You will be a creative thinker with an ability and determination to develop Co-op Academy North Manchester as a centre of excellence within their subject area.

The PE department consists of a dedicated Sports hall and gymnasium, 3G pitches, tennis courts and a fully equipped fitness suite. There are also dedicated classrooms to support the theory elements of the subjects.

 The PE department has a wide range of specialisms in football, netball, rounders, and OAA and we are looking for the right candidate to further strengthen and broaden our curriculum offer in activities such as volleyball, tennis and athletics. At KS4 we offer the BTEC Technical award in Sport.

 Competitions, fixtures and extra-curricular clubs are highly regarded and our staff are committed to offering a wide range of activities throughout the year. We form part of the Manchester Schools PE Association which provides an inclusive competitions calendar. We are also linked to the Manchester United Foundation which provides opportunities inside and outside the classroom for high quality coaching, mentoring and wellbeing initiatives.

 We are regularly successful in a number of competitions, previously winning competitions in the following sports; Netball, Quad kids athletics, football, cross country, cycling and Inclusion tri golf

Co-op Academy North Manchester is a secondary school based in Blackley. We are extremely ambitious for our pupils and work hard to ensure that they leave the Academy equipped to lead happy and successful lives.
