Everyone in Dowdales School leads by example ensuring that we treat each other as we want to be treated ourselves.

We are a community school with 800 students aged 11-16 years on roll. Situated in the historic town of Dalton in Furness, we enjoy being on the fringe of the Lake District National Park. As an Ofsted rated ‘good’ school, we believe in high expectations, excellent teaching and ambition for every young person.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Mathematics to join our department. The department will consist of a part time Academic Team Leader, a full time ATL/Deputy ATL, two full time teachers with additional teaching and learning responsibilities, a full time Mathematics Teacher and a full time Maths and ICT Teacher. In KS3 students are taught in a high aptitude group and mixed ability groups for each band. In KS4 students are taught in grouped classes according to tier of entry. We use a fully resourced scheme of work, following a mastery approach, which is adapted for each class. You will be part of a proud, thriving and ambitious community who work together as one.

We would consider applications from an unqualified teacher with experience in the classroom who would be willing to enroll in a Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship pathway (TES Institute).

We are proud to have:

•        Extremely high aspirations for all students at Dowdales ensuring that every young person makes excellent progress and performs to the best of their ability

•        Students with positive attitudes who enjoy coming to school

•        An enthusiastic and dedicated team of staff and governors

We would welcome applications from someone who has:
