Teacher of MediaResponsibilities
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, ambitious Media teacher to join this rapidly growing department. The successful candidate would be expected to teach MYP Media, Level 2 BTEC Creative Media, IB Diploma Film Studies and Level 3 BTEC Media, and experience of teaching at least one of these courses would be very advantageous. Familiarity with some major software applications such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Suite would be expected.
The position will be a full-time two years renewable contract starting August 2018
We expect our teachers to be creative and innovative in their pedagogical approaches, and be able to contribute to departmental and whole school collaborative working practices so that we continue to provide rewarding learning experiences for all students. A demonstrable commitment to ongoing professional learning is essential for this role.
As we have recently introduced IBO’s Middle Years Programme, the successful candidate should be able to embrace inquiry-based approaches to curriculum delivery and help students develop conceptual understandings. We also value the role of formative assessment and effective feedback in the student learning experience.
The Media department has excellent facilities, with 3 classrooms equipped with Apple Macs and students have access to a full range of appropriate technologies. Our recording studio provides students with access to a professional-level studio environment.
It is an exciting time to join the Media department at KGV, with the profile of the subject continuing to increase through events such as our annual film awards and a range of Media related co-curricular activities. The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to these initiatives, and ideally to lead some extra-curricular activity.
