We are looking for an inspirational and innovative subject teacher of technology with a commitment to academic excellence. The opportunity

This full-time, permanent, post is suitable for both experienced teachers and ECTs. We would welcome a teacher returning to work after a career break and will consider part time or flexible working where possible. We endeavour to utilise each teacher's specialism, and offer the opportunity to teach A level in our Post 16 Centre for the right candidate.

We believe that every single child who joins us has the potential to be knowledgeable, articulate and successful. It is important this resonates with all candidates. Equally important is subject expertise, which is critical to support strong curriculum planning and implementation. You will have high standards for your students and you will be willing to contribute to the wider life of the school (extra-curricular activities).

  • Have a proven track record of success and raising student attainment           
  • Deliver innovative and creative lessons which engage and challenge students to achieve their full potential

  • Teach in a well-equipped classroom    

 

Essential

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Design and Technology related degree or equivalent
  • Ability and experience of teaching design and technology at 11-16
  • Be IT literate
  • The adaptability to be able to teach across D&T specialisms
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Desire to develop oneself.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.

 

Desirable

  • Ability to teach all design and technology specialisms at key stage 3 (Food, Engineering, RM, design skills and Textiles). Internal and external CPD to support development.
  • Subject knowledge of Engineering and Product Design principles at key stage 4 and 5.
  • Experience of curriculum development and sharing expertise.
