Position Information 

James Ruse Agricultural High School, located in Carlingford in North Western Sydney, is a coeducational, academically selective high school with an enrolment of 850 students, including 97% from a non-English speaking background. The school aims to provide highly gifted students with learning driven by curiosity and challenge. Our staff help our students develop skills, knowledge and perspectives with an emphasis on collaboration, self-direction and pedagogy that inspires lifelong learning. Our broad curriculum, including an accelerated study of Agriculture for all students from Years 7-10, and a plethora of varied co-curricular experiences helps to develop students into active citizens who will make positive contributions to the world.

Specific Selection Criteria 
  • Approval to teach PDHPE, SLR and PASS
  • Ability to engage students with an understanding and commitment to high potential and gifted education pedagogies to provide quality differentiated lessons, programs and assessments to foster a culture of high expectations for diverse learners
  • The capacity to use ICT and data to facilitate and enrich teaching, learning and student wellbeing outcomes
  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with proven ability to build positive and productive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community
  • Willingness to make a contribution to sport, faculty enrichment, co-curricular programs and the broader life of the school community
  
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
