TEACHING ASSISTANT - NORTHSTOWE PRIMARY SCHOOL       

Required from the start of the new academic year from 1st September 2024.

There may be the possibility of a start date prior to September 2024 to assist with the preparation for the opening of the new school.

Term-time only contract working Monday to Friday, core school hours of 8.30am to 3.30pm (32.5 hours per week) with a possible additional contract for Midday Supervisor included in the role.


Salary: Grades 4 – 5 Meridian Trust (Level 1/2 TA)

£16,822 – £17,974 (Actual Salary per year)

 

Salary: Grades 3, Point 2 - 3 Meridian Trust (Midday Supervisor)

£2,545 - £2,588 (Actual Salary per year)


We are seeking a kind, curious and hardworking person to join the Northstowe Learning Community in September 2024. As Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping to establish our brand new primary school in the heart of Northstowe. 

This role is an opportunity to make a real difference to the learning and progress of the Reception - aged children joining our new school. You will work closely with the class teacher providing our children with the best possible educational opportunities and start to their school life. You will be able to adapt to the needs of the children and make the learning enjoyable, creative and fun! An element of your duties will include preparation of fantastic teaching resources/classroom displays and may also include midday supervision during the children’s lunchbreak.

 The ideal candidate:

  • Will possess GCSE English & Mathematics Grade C (4/5) or above or equivalent
  • Has experience of supporting children in Early Years/Key Stage One
  • Possesses outstanding communication skills and can work well in a team
  • Can be adaptable, take on board new ideas and think on their feet!
  • Has an understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues
