We are seeking passionate, enthusiastic, and innovative teachers from the UK to join our supportive and well-resourced teaching staff at Hutt International Boys’ School (HIBS) starting January 2025. We expect to have roles in the following subject areas: English, Physics, Geography and History.


Hutt International Boys’ School is a leading Year 7 to 13 (Age 11 to 18 years) state integrated day school for boys in the Wellington region, situated in Trentham, Upper Hutt. We are committed to providing top quality education for our students and have a reputation for outstanding academic achievement. Established in 1991, HIBS is a young school with excellent modern facilities. We have no International Students and our roll is capped at 650 local boys; we have small class sizes (maximum 24 students per class) and places for enrolment are in demand.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teacher's Collective Agreement (STCA) Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement (2022–2025) The base salary for trained and registered teachers currently ranges from NZD$59,027.00 to NZD$99,216.00, depending on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.


Individuals’ actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment by Education Payroll once a role is confirmed.


We work with a NZ based Immigration Agency and will introduce successful candidates to them to assist you in your move to NZ.
