Job overview

Currently, we have exciting opportunity for teacher to join us at Woodhill Primary School.

Woodhill Primary School is part of the Greenwich Hub of the Inspire Partnership, a successful and thriving education Trust proud to serve diverse communities in Croydon, Greenwich and Medway. Our school and Partnership aim is to offer a life changing education to children through an ambitious global and values based curriculum.

Our schools work in collaboration to transform the lives of the children and communities we serve. By being part of the Woodhill family, you will have the chance to work closely with the other two Greenwich schools, Foxfield and Rockliffe Manor, as well as the other six schools in the Trust. This collaborative vision means that our staff benefit from the sharing of expertise and excellent practice as well as gaining support with workload. Our staff are warm, engaging and supportive practitioners who make the best colleagues to work alongside.

Our core values of Collaboration, Excellence, Community, Equity and Continuous Growth, define the way we care for, enrich and teach every child, as well as work with our staff. They permeate everything we do.

Our children are curious learners, who engage readily with their learning, consistently demonstrate our values and want to do their very best. Excellent practices and systems in our school mean excellent learning behaviours and that all children, including those with additional needs, are happy, successful and confident.

Our curriculum is world class. Through our global themes and character skills, we provide our children with opportunities to make sense of the world they live in, think critically about world issues and to develop an awareness of the impact our actions can have on others.

Teaching and learning is at the heart of our work. Partnership working parties and networking hubs allow innovation and strengthened provision.

Our staff are incredibly committed to their own professional development and regularly undertake research projects to enhance their practice, as well as have access to quality and bespoke CPD opportunities within and outside of the school and Partnership. Leadership development and coaching is central to our vision, as is an equity of offer that allows all staff to reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will be someone who is keen to build on their passion for providing children with the very best learning experiences, while working in caring communities and continually developing as a practitioner.

This position is suitable for ECTs.

Comments from our 2019 OFSTED Inspection include:

‘There is a real sense of community at this school. The relationships between pupils, staff and families are very strong. This means that they all support each other to help pupils to learn.’

‘Pupils are energetic and reflective. They feel respected and listened to by the staff.’

‘Pupils behave well in lessons and at breaktimes and lunchtimes. They are polite to each other and to staff. The pupils love learning and try hard in their lessons.’

‘Leaders have considered carefully the ways in which different subjects should be taught, right from the start of the early years… In their lessons in different subjects, they consider themes such as human rights and peace and conflict. They rapidly develop an understanding of how their choices can make a difference to the world.’

‘Leaders make sure that staff rapidly get to know pupils well. This helps children to settle into attending Reception every day. Teachers and support staff understand how best to support individual pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) so that they do well.’

‘The school is well led. School leaders, including governors, understand the many strengths of the school and have plans to help it to improve even more. Teachers and other staff feel well supported by leaders.’
