Job overview
The National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) is expanding its role, and expanding its team. Following the allocation of substantial new government funding for maths education in all school and college phases, the NCETM needs to fill a range of new posts. This is a fantastic time to join us as we enter a period of substantial growth and expansion.
The NCETM, working alongside, and leading, England’s Maths Hubs, aims to ensure that all teachers of mathematics, in all school and college phases, have access to high quality professional development opportunities so that pupils and students have the best chance of acquiring a deep and lasting understanding of maths.
This role is initially funded until July 2019 with the possibility of extension beyond that date.
The role
The role will provide credible and nationally recognised specialist primary mathematics professional development expertise to enhance the work of the NCETM and to provide expert support for the Maths Hubs programme. The post holder will have opportunities to work on a range of aspects of the NCETM’s work, including support for mastery in opportunity areas. This role is home based with extensive travel in England.
The person
The person appointed will have significant enthusiasm and expertise in primary mathematics, gained through direct experience and/or professional development courses and programmes. S/he will have deep understanding of the needs of teachers and primary schools and the issues, challenges and opportunities they face, together with proven expertise in providing effective professional development.
Interviews will take place between Monday 12th February 2018 and Friday 23rd February 2018 inclusive.
The organisation
The NCETM is managed by Tribal Group, in partnership with MEI. The postholder will be employed by Tribal Group, a global educational services company. We offer a friendly and supportive working environment as well as benefits such as pension, private medical insurance, life assurance, healthcare cash plan and child care vouchers.
