Job overview

The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) has an unswerving commitment to high quality, evidence-informed teacher education, and our mission is to improve the quality of teacher and leader development across the system. We are currently recruiting an Associate Head of Partnerships to join our South & West campus teams, distributed across the Birmingham and Bristol areas.

This is a hybrid working role with the opportunity to WFH and on campus, the role would be linked to either the Bristol campus, currently situated in Aztec West (BS32 4TD), or the NIoT’s Birmingham campus at Oasis Woodview (B15 2HU). Applicants should live within a commutable distance of either of these campuses.

The Associate Head of Partnerships will be responsible for all partnership activity in the region, including overseeing recruitment across all core programmes (ITE including PGTA, ECF and NPQs). This will include working with existing partners to solidify relationships and ensure these partnerships grow in scope, impact and scale. They will identify and cultivate new partners in line with the region’s needs, supporting onboarding and managing communications. This role will also ensure we maximise the regional potential of any national programmes that the NIoT offers (currently the NLE programme and the Trust Leaders CEO programme) as well as maximising the potential of our research activity.

The successful candidate will be a great networker, communicator and problem-solver who enjoys forming and nurturing partnerships with senior stakeholders. They will line manage our Regional Recruitment Manager and will be a member of the South and West’s senior leadership team; ensuring that we achieve our collective goals as a region.

We think a wide range of different work and educational experiences could support you to be successful in this role. We encourage applications from all backgrounds, communities and industries, and are committed to employing a team that has diverse skills, experiences and abilities.

Learning That Changes Lives

A teacher’s expertise makes a greater difference to a pupil’s success than any other factor in a school. The National Institute of Teaching exists to nurture the talents of teachers and leaders at every step of their career, whatever the context, wherever they are in the country.

About the National Institute of Teaching

The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) is run by the School-Led Development Trust, a charity, founded by four of the country’s leading school trusts: the Harris Federation, Outwood Grange Academies Trust, Oasis Community Learning and Star Academies, and supported by the Department for Education.

The Institute will boost the quality of teacher and leader development nationally by generating and interpreting research, applying the insights to the design and delivery of high-quality teacher and school leader development programmes, and sharing it all with the sector.

We are building a school-led movement, strengthening relationships and collaboration across the system.
