Hours: 37 hours a week, term-time only 8:15 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with a 30-minutes unpaid lunch break 8:15 a.m. – 3:4 5 p.m. Tuesday with a do minute unpaid break.

Salary Range: H6 - H7 (salary range £27,334.00 - £32,076.00 FTE depending upon experience)

King James Academy Royston is looking for a Behaviour and Reflection Room Manager to start as soon as possible. We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and inspiring person to take on this new role as Behaviour and Reflection Room Manager to supervise students in the Reflection Room (internal inclusion room). This facility will form a key element of the schools’ overall behaviour and sanctions frame work and the successful candidate will work to develop resources and programmes to allow restorative behaviour strategies to be employed to support the school in offering a personalised programme of study for a small number of key students. We are looking for someone who will embrace the ethos of the school and the successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to driving up behaviour standards and inspiring the same in others. They will have an unshakable belief in every student’s entitlement to the highest-quality education and their ability to achieve and learn, whatever their personal circumstances. The successful candidate will have:

  • The ability to engage positively and build working relationships with a wide range of young people and their families
  • The ability to encourage positive and respectful student behaviour
  • An awareness of de-escalation procedures and positive behaviour management strategies
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team with teaching staff and outside agencies
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication and presentation skills
  • A willingness to manage their own time effectively, work flexibly, and use their own initiative
  • An awareness of and a willingness to become trained in the principles of the Restorative practice approach to positive behaviour management

 King James Academy Royston (5-11 years), is a through school formed from the amalgamation of two middle schools and an upper school in 2019. Since 2020 it has been part of the Diamond Learning Partnership Trust. It is approximately 12 miles from Cambridge and is within easy access of London.
