We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Care Club Manager to lead our Care Team, who collectively, are responsible for supporting and helping the children in the morning club (7.45-8.30am) and after-school care (3/3.15pm-6pm) provision. You will be responsible for the administration of, and leading and supervising our wrap around care offer.

We are looking for an individual who: -

  •  has previous experience of working in a school or childcare setting and understands the social and emotional needs of children
  • has proven leadership qualities and can develop and support others in our Care Club Team
  • can create a safe and stimulating environment and coordinate a range of engaging activities to enhance our Care Club provision
  • understands safeguarding, behaviour management, first aid, food hygiene and health and safety requirements in a school setting
  • is reliable, enthusiastic, proactive and resourceful
  • can work effectively with all stakeholders, building and sustaining excellent relationships
  • has general clerical and administrative skills, is a good communicator and understands ‘customer service’ etiquette
  • is a hard-working and dedicated practitioner, willing to work collaboratively with others to enhance their own and other’s professional development.

 

Key Responsibilites

Overall Care Club Responsibilities

·      To plan the activities, to ensure a range of experiences over a week and ensure activities are well resourced.

·      To liaise with staff to maintain and order further resources, including catering supplies.

·      To ensure effective staff: pupil ratios and adequate supervision levels at all times.

·      To provide varied and balanced snacks, ensuring food hygiene standards are followed by Care Club staff.

·      To ensure rooms used are fit for purpose, left clear and tidy afterwards and that that IT equipment is securely stored in between handover periods.

·      To support recruitment processes, as necessary for Care Club staff, with support from the Senior Leadership Team.

Preparation of Activities

·      To plan a range of long- and short-term activities to make effective use of delegated spaces, to meet the varying needs of children.

·      To plan a long- and short-term snack menu, ensuring compliance with food safety guidelines.

·      To ensure resources for activities remain organised, labelled, accessible and replenished.

 Safeguarding

·      To ensure that the care for the children meets their varying social and emotional needs at this specific time of the day.

·      To ensure that all Care Club staff comply with school policies and procedures relating to safeguarding including Child Protection, Behaviour, Health and Safety, Supporting Pupils with Medical Conditions, Special Educational Needs and Disability, Attendance and Data Protection.

·      To ensure effective communication between parents and school staff, enabling the best possible welfare of each child.

·      To report any concerns to the relevant school staff who deal with Safeguarding matters, but deal with any pastoral or behavioural matters and communicate these with parents.

Managing Staff

•         To nurture a positive, professional work place so that the team work well together, feel valued, supported and able to learn from one another.

•         To delegate duties ensuring readiness for the children arriving, handover and sufficient monitoring of each activity.

•         To lead Appraisal for Care Club Supervisors/Leaders (as directed) ensuring that all are valued and able to grow as play leaders.

Information Technology

·      To maintain Care Club recording systems, including updating registers and complying with sign-out procedures.

·      To use the curriculum computer network to support children with homework tasks.

·      To read and reply to school emails.

·      To comply with GDPR and confidentiality procedures.

Other Duties

  • To undertake other duties as requested by the Headteacher.
  • To participate in training as required.
