36.40 hours per week , Term time only + 3 weeks

We are seeking to appoint a Catering Manager and the main areas of responsibility of this post will include:

·      Strong team player

·      Allergen accredited

·      Ability to oversee HACCAP procedures within the kitchen

·      Ability to prepare 150 + daily meals in line with college requirements

·      Good communicator within the team with clear and precise instructions

·      Strong understanding of food profit margins, per portion cost, working towards a monthly profit margin

·      To adopt a clean ‘as you go attitude’ in all staffs daily duties

·      To maintain and strengthen where required team training in all aspects of food safety/ allergen training/manual handling/new starters

·      To monitor food quality on delivery days, to maintain quality standard of purchased food.

·      Computer literate ie excel / word / email

·      Costing ability for gross profit

 

In return we can offer the following:

·      A term time role which means you will be off up to 12 weeks per year including 2 weeks at Christmas

·      Pupils are in college for 38 weeks per year, you will be paid for 41 weeks to provide extra time for working evening events and school holiday times to place orders, update menus and price lists.

About Saint John Henry Newman Catholic College

Saint John Henry Newman Catholic College is a Catholic Secondary School located in Chadderton, Greater Manchester. It falls under the  Diocese of Salford.

The school was formed in 2011 from the amalgamation of St Augustine of Canterbury RC High School in Werneth, Oldham and Our Lady’s RC High School in Royton. The merged school was originally based over the two former school sites, but moved to a new building.
