“I have come that you may have life and have it to the full” John 10:10

Due to the retirement of our current post holder, the governors of All Hallows RC High School wish to appoint a School Chaplain to join our successful and vibrant Roman Catholic school community.  Our school is a great place to work with both pupils and staff who are warm and welcoming, and supportive of the school’s mission.

We are seeking a forward thinking individual who is comfortable and confident in speaking of their faith, charismatic in dealing with both youngsters and adult staff, can bear witness to Jesus Christ’s message, and can support young people and colleagues in deepening their spirituality. The ability to devise and lead liturgies and prayer opportunities is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience working with teenagers, perhaps for example as a youth chaplain/leader, be willing to lead the school’s liturgical programme and participate fully in the daily life of the school. There is also a Catholic pastoral element to this role for both staff and pupils in their time of need.

You must be able to manage your own workload effectively, work with sensitivity and discretion; as well as have a good knowledge of Catholic liturgy and safeguarding issues. The hours of work are likely to be mornings but with flexibility at key times of the year.   It is important for the Chaplain to be well known and prominent about the school. Involvement in all aspects of school life will provide the Chaplain with countless opportunities to get to know the many members of the school community.

Please return your application to Ms G Perkins, Headteacher’s PA, All Hallows RC High School, 150 Eccles Old Road, Salford, M6 8AA or email gemma.perkins@salford.gov.uk

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 12th June 2024 at 12pm.

All Hallows RC High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post is subject to enhanced DBS disclosures.

All Hallows Roman Catholic High School is proud to fall under the Diocese of Salford a mixed comprehensive secondary school situated in and serving the families and communities of the inner city Salford.  We are a Catholic school, not only in name but also in character and ethos, and we believe that you will sense this in all of your contacts with people here.

We moved to a new modern state of the art building in September 2014 after outgrowing our previous site in Weaste Lane. We are a smaller than average secondary school and offer 742 places for students between the ages of 11 and 16 when fully subscribed, our  small size and our excellent pastoral system of care allow us to get to know and support our pupils very well.

At All Hallows we aim to provide a broad and balanced education for all our pupils, resulting in the highest possible academic achievement, a full awareness of personal and social responsibility and a commitment to gospel values through the teachings of the Catholic church.

The school lies in the heart of the community, close to Salford Cathedral and the River Irwell a stones through away from Salford Quays and its iconic Media City UK, also on the doorstep of Manchester city centre with easy access to the M60, M61, M62, M6, M56 and with great rail and tram links.  All Hallows attracts its staff from a wide geographic area.

We are lucky to have a committed and established staff with little staff turnover, vacancies here at All Hallows are rare. As an employer of choice we welcome visits from prospective employees, once you have been through our doors and experienced our warm and welcoming environment we are confident that you will want to work with us.
