We are pleased to be recruiting a new member of our Cover Supervisor team. The successful candidate will actively engage pupils in Teaching & Learning and supervise students in the absence of a teacher. As a member of the Cover Team, we also like our supervisors to provide a range of cover for different personnel across the school. These additional cover responsibilities are tailored to meet a candidate’s experience and interests. An interest in after school extracurricular activity would be welcome. Although this is a permanent role, we would consider applicants for a fixed term contact if they wish to use this role as a stepping stone into another role such as teaching or teacher training.

The ability to build and develop good relationships and be a positive role model, raising aspirations, is essential. Good administrative and general IT skills would be a significant advantage.

St. Paul's is a thriving and successful Catholic school with an excellent reputation. Our commitment to excellent teaching and learning can be demonstrated through bespoke CPD opportunities and through the management of a growing and successful training school. All staff members are committed to the care and success of pupils and working in a setting where values of forgiveness, concern for others and respect are shared as the core values of St. Paul’s regardless of faith.

We will review applications on receipt. Suitable candidates may be interviewed before closing date and reserve the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.

St. Paul’s Catholic School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All references will be requested prior to interview. The successful candidate will be subject to satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check.

Values and vision

The school endeavours to be a community in which the love of God and one another can be seen in practise. The students are encouraged to be selfless and to serve one another. The pupils are expected to do the best in everything they do.

At the heart of all it does is the school’s shared belief that each individual is a unique person, created by God.

Ofsted

Leaders are effective because they have taken the right steps to improve the school. They show clear leadership and are well supported by staff. Governors have made significant changes to the way they work. As a result, they are very knowledgeable about the school so they successfully challenge leaders and hold them to account well. Teaching is good across all key stages because staff are committed to continually improving their practice.
