Job overview

At Edgbaston High School for Girls we are at an exciting juncture in our journey toward excellence in music education. As part of our commitment to enhancing the musical experience for our students, we are seeking to appoint a Classroom Music Teacher who embodies passion, expertise, and the drive to inspire young minds. This position offers the unique opportunity for the right candidate to not only shape the future of music education across Years 1 to 13 but also to potentially step into a leadership role as Deputy Director of Music.

This pivotal role aims to attract an individual who possesses a profound understanding of music's role in education and personal development, coupled with the skills and enthusiasm to lead by example alongside the essential skill of playing the piano. The ability to accompany students on the piano during classes, rehearsals, and performances is a critical aspect of the job, serving as a foundation for our dynamic music program. The ideal candidate will be someone looking to grow their career, taking on responsibilities that stretch beyond the classroom to include contributing strategically to the development of our music department and its offerings.
