OUR SCHOOL:

We are a two-form entry Free School situated in Edgware. Rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, the school is one of nine schools within the Bellevue Place Education Trust (BPET). We have extremely high expectations for every pupil and, by working actively in partnership with staff, parents and local community, we aim to support and guide our pupils to reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally. Watling Park is a school that enables its pupils to take confidence from and enjoyment in everything they do and places them at the heart of a vibrant and thriving school community.

About this Role

Watling Park is seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspiring Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for Inclusion for September 2024.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and talented leader, with a proven accomplishment of leading and managing staff and implementing programmes and raising achievement for Pupils, to work with a great community of children, staff, and parents. This is a full-time role. 

We are seeking a non-classed based Deputy Headteacher who: 

  • Has current Leadership experience and a passion for inclusion 
  • Share our vision of transforming learning to raise aspiration, secure an enjoyment, love of learning, and develop a sense of pride in all that we do 
  • Put children at the heart of everything they do and have elevated expectations of them 
  • Be an outstanding and enthusiastic classroom practitioner with a proven track record of raising standards 
  • Be an excellent leader with a passion and commitment to improving the life chances of our children 
  • Has a proven ability to lead, inspire and motivate others. 
  • Has the ability to drive forward developments in our curriculum 
  • Strong commitment to well-being and mental health for pupils and staff 
  • Has a track record of developing effective partnerships with staff, governors, parents, and the wider community agencies to drive forward change and shape the future for our pupils with additional needs. 
  • Can support and lead a team of skilled and committed staff to support inclusive practice 
  • Can develop the school vision and strategy of SEND and inclusive provision alongside the Headteacher, Leadership team and the BPET Trust Central team 
  • Work as part of a dynamic partnership of BPET schools 

 

You will have leadership qualities and the drive to inspire and encourage staff and pupils to achieve their absolute best. You will have an innovative, inclusive approach to leadership and work closely with the Headteacher.
