Job overview

We are in search of a visionary Director of Digital Development to lead our digital transformation journey. This strategic and operational role reports directly to the CEO and is crucial for integrating cutting-edge digital technologies into our educational practices. The Director will be instrumental in creating a 'digital-first' culture, enhancing curriculum development and delivery, and empowering our educators, leaders and the whole team. The successful candidate will be a champion of continuous innovation, research, and development, and will play a pivotal role in building meaningful partnerships with local enterprises and industries to enrich our educational offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

 Digital Strategy Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive digital strategy that aligns with our mission and educational goals, ensuring our organisation leads in digital-first education.

 Curriculum Development & Innovation in Education

  • Work closely with academic staff to identify and incorporate digital tools and resources into curriculum planning and delivery, fostering a learning environment that is engaging, inclusive, flexible, and accessible.

 Professional Development

  • Work alongside colleagues to empower the team with the skills and knowledge necessary to leverage digital tools and methodologies, enhancing their ability to support student learning and progress in their own roles effectively.

Continuous Improvement

  • Foster a culture of continuous innovation, encouraging research and development in educational technologies and pedagogies.

 Partnership Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local enterprises and industries, facilitating partnerships that bring real-world insights and opportunities into our classrooms.

 Digital Inclusion

  • Work with colleagues, educators and the wider organisation to develop and encourage an environment of digital inclusion.

 Operational Excellence

  • Ensure the seamless integration of digital systems and platforms across the Trust, ensuring accessibility, data security, safeguarding and compliance.

What is Required for the Role:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Digital and Technological Innovation, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a digital leadership role.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams in a dynamic and changing environment, with a commitment to professional development and empowerment at all levels.
  • Demonstrable experience in investigating, developing and introducing digital innovation and improvements to existing teams and processes.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
