Ark All Saints Academy is a four-form entry academy in Camberwell, south east London, which opened in 2013 as part of Ark Schools. We are a mixed Church of England school with strong values and a Christian ethos. We welcome children aged 11-16 of all faiths and none, and ask that all members of our family respect each other’s faiths and participate in all aspects of academy life.

Our four key values are integrity, responsibility, confidence and success. Hence, it is our aim to ensure both students and teachers are confident, responsible, successful and honest in every aspect of our school’s systems. This will enable our scholars to be well prepared for the next phase of their life, whether that is to go to university or in pursuing the career of their choice. Ark All Saint Academy aims to treat pupils as individuals and is keen to work with parents to develop and nurture the talents of each pupil. We want our students to succeed academically and socially.

As part of this preparation we expect scholars to manage their path to success. We believe that creating a supportive environment will help them immensely in that. Hence we make sure everyone at our school knows and follows our safeguarding and behaviour policies. The latter outlines what is appropriate conduct, that will allow each scholar to be successful each day. We believe that good and positive behaviour is achieved through relationships and an understanding of the impact that this has on individuals. At Ark All Saints we expect all scholars to behave well, all the time. There are no excuses for poor behaviour.

At All Saints, we have created a caring and collaborative environment throughout our school and encourage our teachers to support and help each other. We hold staff development in high regard and offer twice the standard number of training days – including our network-wide ‘Hub Days’ where peers join together to learn and share best practice. There are also opportunities for online training and bespoke learning and mentoring programmes. Please see our six points on what it's like to work at Ark All Saints Academy.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed back from the intended end point - enabling students to reach university. Ark All Saints Academy specialises in Mathematics and all Year 7 and 8 scholars follow the Mathematics Mastery programme. At KS3 there is a strong emphasis on the teaching of core subjects, every scholar in the school, regardless of age or ability gets at least one lesson of Maths, English and Science every day. If scholars are behind in these subjects we will give them extra time and support so that they can catch up and keep up.

Ofsted report

Ark All Saints Academy was rated as good in our 2015 Ofsted inspection with outstanding areas, such as safety and behaviour of students.

"Achievement is improving in English, mathematics, science and several other subjects. Teachers focus on scholars understanding work in depth and learning how to master problems. The provision for scholars’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is outstanding. Citizenship days extend scholars’ horizons, their awareness of how to be safe and their understanding of British values. Scholars are happy and proud to be part of the academy ‘family’. They feel safe and secure and behave extremely well. They value the tolerance and respect promoted by all staff."
