Director of Studies

Purpose

The Director of Studies at Copperfield International School will be instrumental in advancing the educational strategy and academic standards across all programmes. The role involves enhancing the school’s academic offerings and ensuring excellence in curriculum and instruction aligning with global educational trends.

Reports To

The Director of Studies reports directly to the Director.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the strategic planning and implementation of innovative teaching and curriculum practices.

Evaluate and ensure the quality of educational programs and faculty performance to maintain high standards of teaching.

Coordinate professional development activities for faculty, focusing on continuous improvement in teaching methodologies and technologies.

Supervise the assessment strategies and academic reporting across the school to support student learning and outcomes.

Manage and analyse student performance data to guide academic decisions and policy.

Oversee staffing requirements, including recruitment, development, and retention of academic staff.

Chair academic planning committees and spearhead initiatives that enhance the educational environment.

Manage the Special Education Needs (SEN), additional language support programs, and academic enrichment opportunities.

Facilitate the organization of key academic events and oversee comprehensive university admission counselling.

Conduct regular reviews of the academic program to ensure relevance and rigor.

Education and Professional Qualifications

Advanced degree in Education or a relevant field.

Teaching certification or equivalent educational qualification.

Proficiency in English; fluency in French or another additional language is beneficial.

Experience

Proven leadership experience in an academic setting, preferably within an international school context.

Demonstrated ability in developing and executing educational strategies.

Extensive knowledge of international educational curricula and modern teaching practices.
