Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic individual and expert that will serve as the Director of Technology. You will lead and work alongside a dynamic IT team to further enhance the overall technology strategy and digital engagement services. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills combined with a high level of interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills and will define the IT Technology vision, strategy and roadmap.


Impact You'll Make

• Take a strategic lead and be responsible for the planning, implementation, management and delivery of technology services across the school ranging from Kindergarten up to Secondary department

• Liaise with Department Heads and staff on all issues relating to technology both in the classroom and the administration

• Support teachers who are using the Learning Platform and administration systems

• Working with the IT Support Group to ensure network infrastructure and classroom technologies are fully operational

• Assisting teachers who are interested in integrating technology into their learning activities

• Work with the IT team to support the management of the GSIS Learning Platform

• Be the most senior person in the school as far as technology is concerned and act as an effective bridge between staff and technology experts

• Assist as necessary with the ongoing development of IT in the relevant subject curricula in each department to provide an appropriate learning experience for students from both the German International and the English International streams

• Establish and maintain privacy and data protection controls. Develop and implement an ongoing data protection and privacy awareness, education and training program for all employees

• Manage the school's annual technology budget

• Develop and review ICT policy, and associated development and action plans for the school, and coordinate and management and implementation of that policy


What You’ll Bring

• University and/or teachers’ college graduate, preferably with a specialisation in ICT/Computer Science

• At least 5 years' management experience in a business environment

• At least 2 years' experience managing a computer network

• Leading transformational programs and coaching a team to deliver results

• Capability to represent the IT organization with internal and external entities

• Practical experience in analysis, development, and evaluation of standards, policies, and procedures

• Be fluent in English (knowledge in German and/or Cantonese would be an advantage)

• Be results-driven
