Spring Lane School is a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) committed to providing high-quality, inclusive education to the most disadvantaged pupils.

We are looking for an inspiring and dedicated Teacher to join our team in September 2024 on a part-time basis (0.4 FTE). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of our students and helping them succeed in their next phase of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lessons across the core curriculum and wellbeing curriculum to all pupils.
  • Provide form time support and mentorship to students, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new curriculum pathways.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for all students.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback and support where necessary.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities, particularly in the areas of SEN, trauma-informed practice, and teaching and learning.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and tailor teaching methods to suit individual student needs.
  • A commitment to inclusion and a passion for helping disadvantaged pupils succeed.
  • Strong understanding of SEN and trauma-informed practices.
