We are currently looking to recruit a Head of Academy for Goldthorpe Primary Academy in Barnsley, to start in April 2023 on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for all aspects of the internal organisation, professional leadership, management, and control of the school and for leading supervision over teaching and support staff in accordance with Instrument of Government. 

You will share the Trust’s vision for improving educational outcomes in the North and will bring about transformational change within the communities that we serve.

As the most senior leader within the Academy, you will work with your Senior Leadership Team to ensure consistent application of effective Trust systems and processes. You will use experience and innovation to drive forward school improvement to ensure that no child is left behind.

This role will suit an existing Head of Academy or aspiring Head of Academy who wants to make a significant difference to children’s lives by shaping their educational experience. You will be inspiring and engaging, with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Goldthorpe is a village within the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley, in South Yorkshire and the academy lies at the heart of the local community. There are currently 264 pupils on roll and our vision is to develop the holistic potential of all our pupils, so they become successful, responsible, active members of society. We strive at all times to find even more ways of enhancing our work to provide every child with an outstanding start to their school life in an exciting centre of learning, characterised by high standards in literacy and numeracy, a rich, broad, and balanced curriculum, and a happy, safe, and supportive environment. Goldthorpe Primary School lies at the heart of the local community. In the summer of 2016 we relocated to our new site and opened our doors in September 2016. There are currently 264 pupils on roll.
