Part time, 3 days (0.6), Fixed Term Contract commencing in January 2021 (possibly earlier subject to availability) covering maternity leave for up to one year (or return of the post holder, whichever is earlier)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Academy, where putting students first is a fundamental part of our culture. We strongly believe that positive outcomes for our students come from the professionalism, commitment and passion for excellence displayed by our staff.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated teacher who also has excellent leadership skills to lead a department and to teach music across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will need exemplary management skills, the ability to inspire and motivate students and staff alike. Have a proven track record of driving success and a passion and commitment to ensuring all young people, regardless of background, maximise their potential.

The successful applicant will be creative, well organised and with the support of a strong team, will actively assist in the further development of Music within the Academy.

Bridgwater College Academy is the only all-through mainstream Academy in Somerset and opened in 2012.  Student numbers are divided equally between Primary and Secondary phases; we also have a nursery provision too. The Academy was the first sponsored Academy within the Bridgwater and Taunton College Trust, which now hosts seven Academies and is itself set to continue to expand in the future.
