Job overview

Headteacher, The Gatwick School

Salary: Competitive

Start date: To be confirmed

Aurora Academies Trust aims to provide excellent education for the children and families that our academies serve, where every pupil thrives and makes great progress. We are unflinching in our determination to instil in our pupils a love of learning, raise their aspirations, and teach respect and tolerance. All our academies are unique, reflecting their own distinct communities, with the Aurora Pillars supporting the development of all pupils, families, and staff across the Trust. Our vision is clear: we are determined to provide the best possible standard of education to our pupils, regardless of background or ability, every single day.

We are now looking for a dynamic and tenacious leader to help The Gatwick School realise our ambitions for its future and to take advantage of the opportunities ahead. Whether you are an aspiring or existing Headteacher, this is an exceptional opportunity. The Gatwick School is an all-through school in Crawley for ages 4-16, with nearly 1000 students on roll. The vision of the academy is to be a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in all that we do- a place where high quality teaching and learning is delivered, where exemplary behaviour and care is guaranteed, where great outcomes are attained and opportunities for all to achieve and flourish is a given.

With a dedicated staff team and backed by a collaborative and supportive Trust, our new Headteacher will ensure best-practice teaching and learning throughout the school from early years through to key stage 4. Through your inspirational leadership, you will develop our vision for the future as we complete the development of brand-new facilities on the existing site over the next few years. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious senior leader to make the very best of the opportunities afforded by the global hub and world class innovation on our doorstep, and who will lead us into our next chapter as a school community.

In return, we can offer you an exciting career within a successful and growing organisation. At Aurora Academies Trust we know that our schools need and deserve the best Headteachers to lead them. To arrange a confidential conversation about the role, please contact our recruitment partners at Propelo on 01273 222 877 or visit: https://aat.our-careers.co.uk/

Aurora Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, and where applicable, a prohibition from teaching check will be completed for all applicants. Aurora Academies Trust is fully committed to equality and to valuing diversity as an employer and a provider of education.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 5th February, 8pm

Interviews: w/c 20th February

We are looking for staff with high expectations of themselves, colleagues and pupils with the energy and determination to make a difference. So if you are someone who motivates and inspires confidence; a clear communicator who is collaborative and builds strong relationships. Then, you’ve come to the right place. Apply now!
